The Warrior Truck is born out of a collaboration with Team Aftershock and Aftershock Monster Truck Racing. Bob Robbins, owner and driver of the Aftershock Monster Truck has had a long history and friendship with the Seneca people. The Aftershock team is based in Lawtons, New York, a small town near the Seneca Territory of Cattaraugus. Many of
Aftershock’s sponsors are Seneca businesses and Matt Hill, the team’s crew chief, is Seneca. At an Aftershock performance for the Seneca’s 2007 Fall Festival Bob Robbins expressed his desire to run a second truck and suggested to John Kane the idea of a Native theme for a new truck. John Kane, a
Mohawk from the community of Kahnawake who lives and works in Seneca Territory, is a strong advocate of Native sovereignty and education. He saw an opportunity to, literally, create a vehicle that could draw people, especially kids, to Native images and concepts. Bob Robbins and Matt Hill are serving double duty as driver and crew chief, respectively, for both Aftershock and The Warrior. The Warrior is being operated as part of a two-truck team for Team Aftershock. The Warrior image, likeness and identity are owned by John Kane and exist as a collaborative effort of Mohawk and Seneca people.
